Switzerland Come Close to Winning
Scotland and Switzerland played out an entertaining draw in their Group C match at UEFA EURO 2023. Switzerland came close to winning the match in the second half, but Scotland goalkeeper David Marshall made a number of excellent saves to keep his team in the game.
Switzerland Dominate Possession
Switzerland dominated possession for much of the match and created a number of chances, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Shaqiri had the best chance of the first half when he was played through on goal, but Marshall made a great save to deny him.
Scotland Take the Lead
Scotland took the lead against the run of play in the second half when McTominay scored from close range. However, Switzerland equalized just a few minutes later when Shaqiri scored a stunning free-kick.
Scotland Hold on for a Draw
Scotland held on for a draw in the end, but they were indebted to Marshall for some excellent saves. The result leaves Scotland in second place in Group C, while Switzerland is in third place.
